TeamJobs are recruiting for a Production Technician to join a growing manufacturing business in Southampton. This isn't a role for someone who simply operates machinery. We're looking for someone who understands how production should run - and has the confidence and experience to make it better.
Production Technician: £40,000-£45,000
Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm 37.5 hours Permanent
The role:
- Set, adjust and change over production machinery
- Fault-find and resolve issues to minimise downtime
- Identify causes of rejects and recurring production problems
- Improve efficiency across filling, labelling and packaging machinery
- Drive continuous improvement and introduce better ways of working
- Develop SOPs and improve production processes
- Support and develop less experienced Machine Setters and Operators
We're looking for:
- Strong machine setting or production engineering experience
- Hands-on mechanical and fault-finding ability
- Experience with filling, packaging or labelling machinery would be ideal
- A strong continuous improvement mindset
- Organised, disciplined and confident challenging existing processes
- Someone who takes ownership and solves problems rather than working around them
