Looking for an engineering role that's a little different from the norm? We're recruiting for an innovative, fast-growing British manufacturer with a fantastic brand, ambitious growth plans and a genuinely energetic culture. This is a business that invests in new ideas, its manufacturing capability and its people - and they're looking for a hands-on Production Engineer who wants to make a real impact.
You'll be joining at an exciting stage of growth, with plenty of opportunity to improve machinery, solve problems, introduce better ways of working and help shape how the production operation develops.

- 33 days' holiday including bank holidays, increasing with service
- Competitive salary and pension contributions

The Role of Production Engineer
You'll be a key technical presence within production, taking responsibility for the setting, changeover, operation and optimisation of automated and semi-automated production machinery. It's a varied role combining engineering, production and continuous improvement. You'll be:
- Setting and changing over production and packaging machinery
- Troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic and basic electrical/control faults
- Responding to breakdowns and reducing downtime
- Carrying out preventative maintenance, inspections and minor repairs
- Adjusting equipment to improve output, quality and efficiency
- Identifying recurring faults and getting to the root cause
- Supporting machine trials, new equipment and process improvements
- Improving changeover times, reliability, waste and overall equipment performance
- Providing technical support and coaching to Machine Setters and Production Operators
- Helping maintain high standards of safety, quality and housekeeping
What Are Our Client Looking For As Production Engineer?
We're interested in people from backgrounds such as Production Engineering, Machine Setting, Engineering Setting, Production Technician or Manufacturing Engineering. You'll need strong mechanical aptitude and practical experience of setting, operating and fault-finding automated or semi-automated machinery. Experience with filling, capping, labelling, coding, packaging or conveyor equipment would be particularly relevant. Exposure to pneumatics, electrical systems, PLC-controlled machinery, preventative maintenance, 5S, SMED, RCA or OEE would also be beneficial, but you don't necessarily need to tick every box.
Above all, we're looking for someone who is curious, proactive and solutions-focused - someone who enjoys figuring out why something isn't working, fixing it and then finding a way to make it work better next time.
If you're looking for a hands-on engineering role within an ambitious and slightly different manufacturing environment, this is well worth a conversation.
