The opportunity as Production Engineer:
As Production Engineer, you'll help improve manufacturing processes from concept through to production. You'll work closely with production and engineering teams to solve problems, improve efficiency and introduce better ways of working.
Your work will include:
- Developing production processes, work instructions and technical documentation
- Designing tooling, fixtures and production aids using 3D CAD
- Improving layouts, workflows, ergonomics and production efficiency
- Delivering Lean, Six Sigma and continuous improvement projects
- Troubleshooting manufacturing and equipment issues
- Supporting automation, standardisation and new technology projects
- Developing testing and validation processes
- Supporting capacity planning, costings and process optimisation
- Leading equipment investment and implementation projects
- Ensuring manufacturing processes meet quality, safety and regulatory standards
What you'll bring to the table as Production Engineer
You'll ideally have experience as a Production, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineer within a high-mix manufacturing environment, alongside an HND (or equivalent) in an appropriate engineering discipline.
You'll also bring:
- Strong Lean / Six Sigma and problem-solving experience
- 3D CAD capability, ideally SolidWorks
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing routings
- Strong analytical, communication and project skills
- Experience implementing engineering or process changes
- Six Sigma Green Belt (or above) would also be beneficial.
