Key responsibilities as Planner / Estimator will include:

  • Preparing accurate and competitive estimates within an engineering and manufacturing environment
  • Interpreting technical drawings and specifications to build detailed cost breakdowns
  • Creating and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Supporting production planning and workload scheduling to ensure on-time delivery
  • Liaising confidently with clients to clarify requirements and provide technical input where required
  • Coordinating with internal stakeholders across engineering, purchasing, production, and management
  • Monitoring project progress and updating plans or costings as necessary
  • Contributing to continuous improvement within planning and estimating processes

About You

  • Planning and workload coordination experience
  • The ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to liaise with customers and a wide range of internal teams
  • A friendly, approachable manner with the ability to build strong working relationships
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

This is a well-established yet growing business with a strong reputation in its sector. The culture is supportive, collaborative, and team-focused. As an onsite role in Weymouth, you will be an integral part of day-to-day operations and have genuine visibility across the business.

If you are a hands-on engineer ready to transition into a planning and estimating position, or an experienced Planner / Estimator looking to join a progressive Dorset-based company, I would welcome a confidential conversation.
