We are seeking an ambitious and personable Installation Engineer with a background in smoke ventilation systems. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified or partially qualified electrician to progress their skills in a professional, supportive, and fast-growing engineering environment.
Role Overview
- Install, maintain, and wire smoke ventilation systems from a variety of manufacturers.
- Work with lead engineers to ensure key project deadlines are met.
- Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues to maintain professional standards.
- Carry out planned preventive maintenance in line with contract scopes and manufacturer guidance.
- Use company software to raise quotes and record asset information, diagnostics, remedial actions, and supporting notes/photos.
- Travel all across the UK with occasional stopovers and overtime.
- Take personal responsibility for development, safety, and maintaining company vehicles/equipment.
- Exercise delegated authority to stop or refuse unsafe work, recording and escalating actions in line with procedures.
Skills & Experience
- Full, clean driving licence required.
- Qualified or partially qualified electrician with smoke ventilation experience.
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installations (or equivalent) and JIB/ECS card holder.
- Rooftop Safety / Work Restraint training (e.g., SpanSet), PASMA, and IPAF certifications advantageous.
- Working knowledge of multiple smoke ventilation systems and standards, including Approved Document B, BS EN 12101, BS 9999, BS 9991, and BS 7346 pt8.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, safety-conscious mindset.
