TeamJobs is currently recruiting for an experienced Manual / XYZ / Hurco Turner to join a well-established precision engineering company based in Wimborne. This is a temporary assignment, ideal for an experienced Turner looking for steady work in a professional manufacturing environment.
Working Hours (39 hours per week)
- Monday - Thursday: 07:30 - 16:45
- Friday: 07:30 - 12:30
- 45 minutes unpaid lunch break (Mon-Thurs)
- Early finish every Friday
The Role
You will be responsible for setting, programming and operating XYZ and Hurco lathes, producing high-quality components to tight tolerances. This is a hands-on role requiring strong manual turning skills and the ability to work from engineering drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting and operating XYZ lathes (ProtoTRAK)
- Setting and operating Hurco lathes (WinMax)
- Manual turning to tight tolerances
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Selecting tools, speeds and feeds
- Carrying out in-process inspections
- Maintaining quality and production records
- Working safely and following H&S procedures
What We are Looking For
- Time-served Turner or NVQ Level 3 / Apprenticeship in Engineering
- Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Strong manual turning background
- Confident using measuring equipment
- Experience machining steel, aluminium and similar materials
- XYZ / Hurco experience highly desirable
