We are working with an established fire and security specialist that is looking to add a Fire Extinguisher Engineer / PAT Tester to their growing team in Manchester. This is a varied field-based role, carrying out servicing, inspection and testing of fire extinguishers and portable electrical equipment across a range of customer sites.

The Role

  • You'll be responsible for carrying out routine servicing, testing and maintenance of fire safety and electrical equipment, ensuring customers remain compliant with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Your work will include:
    • Servicing and maintaining fire extinguishers across customer sites
    • Inspecting and testing fire extinguishers and associated equipment
    • Carrying out PAT testing on portable electrical appliances
    • Identifying faults, defects and equipment requiring replacement or further attention
    • Completing service reports and compliance documentation
    • Advising customers on fire extinguisher requirements and basic fire safety matters
    • Ensuring all work is completed to the required standards
    • Travelling to customer sites across Manchester and the surrounding areas

About You

We're looking for someone who is practical, reliable and confident working independently on customer sites. Ideally, you will have:

  • Previous experience servicing or inspecting fire extinguishers
  • Experience carrying out PAT testing would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of relevant fire safety standards and regulations
  • Good attention to detail and accurate record keeping
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • A professional and customer-focused approach
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Relevant fire extinguisher or PAT qualifications would be advantageous

Candidates with a fire extinguisher background who are looking to develop their PAT testing skills will also be considered.
