The Head of Strategic Partnerships owns the global partnerships strategy and commercial outcomes for a new retail media product, with primary focus on the UK and US markets. This role is accountable for building, scaling and governing a high-impact partnership ecosystem that accelerates revenue growth, product adoption and market credibility. As a senior leader, the role shapes go-to-market strategy, influences product direction, and acts as the external face of the company within the retail media ecosystem.

Key outcomes of the role

  • Strategic Ownership & Leadership
    • Define and own the global partnerships strategy aligned with company growth objectives and revenue targets.
    • Establish clear partner segmentation, prioritisation and value propositions across retailers, brands, agencies and ecosystem platforms.
    • Act as the internal subject-matter authority on retail media partnerships, market dynamics and competitive landscape.
    • Serve as a senior representative of the company within the retail media ecosystem, building long-term strategic credibility.
  • Commercial Accountability
    • Own partnership-driven revenue targets, pipeline development and commercial performance.
    • Design, test and optimise commercial models (e.g. CPC, tenancy, revenue share, SaaS) to maximise scalability and margin.
    • Lead complex commercial negotiations with senior stakeholders at partner organisations.
    • Ensure partnerships deliver measurable business outcomes, not just logos or integrations.
  • Ecosystem Development & External Influence
    • Build and scale a strategic partner network including: Retailers and retail media networks, Brands (retail and DTC), Media and performance agencies, Retail media ecosystem platforms (martech, adtech, CDPs).
    • Identify and secure anchor partnerships that accelerate market entry and product adoption.
    • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and executive-level meetings.
  • Cross-Functional Influence
    • Co-own the go-to-market strategy alongside the CCO, Sales and Product leadership.
    • Translate partner and market insights into clear product and roadmap input, influencing prioritisation and feature development.
    • Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Product and Customer teams to ensure consistent execution and messaging.
    • Support the development of high-quality sales, partnership and pricing materials, ensuring consistency and scalability.
  • Governance, Process & Scale
    • Establish clear partnership frameworks, processes and governance, including onboarding, enablement and performance tracking.
    • Define success metrics and reporting for partnerships (revenue contribution, pipeline, adoption, retention).
    • Build a repeatable, scalable partnership model that can support future team growth.
    • Over time, contribute to the design and leadership of a partnerships function, including potential team hiring and development.
