Description
The Product Innovation Lead will drive the division’s innovation strategy by developing and implementing comprehensive plans, leading cross-functional teams, conducting market research, overseeing product development, engaging stakeholders, managing projects, and fostering a culture of innovation. This role ensures the company remains competitive and responsive to market changes by continuously identifying and capitalizing on new opportunities.
You will contribute significantly to the direction that the Product Innovation team takes and will help create new revenue streams, improved operational efficiencies and a stronger market position. By fostering a culture of innovation you will create a legacy of creativity and delivery that will be crucial for the long-term sustainability and success of our business.
Based on the location of the role, the role will be based in a country where we have an existing payroll setup. We are a flexi-first business and value in-person collaboration and make an effort to get together when and where makes the most impact.
Key outcomes of the role
- Conducting market research and analysis, customer needs, and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities for innovation.
- Identifying innovation trends and business opportunities within the market.
- Model new and novel commercial approaches, using data and analytics, to refine both existing products and new commercial innovations
- Lead Cross-Functional Teams to develop MVPs, and other prototypes, to explore innovations and their market viability and likely adoption
- Presenting new ideas and approaches to high-level stakeholders
- Foster innovation within the organization by encouraging creative thinking and experimentation paired with a preference to fast iteration/fail fast approach to test ideas and concepts as early as possible.
- Actively participate, design, and optimize the product from initial concept then manage daily, weekly and monthly through the development cycle and then finally to product release ensuring functionality, quality, and schedule
- Think big-picture at a strategic level as well as focus on the details when it comes to implementation and execution
- Assess value, develop business cases, prioritize stories and epics to ensure work focuses on those with a maximum value that are aligned with your product strategy
- Never be satisfied with a project left half-done and want to be surrounded by people like you; hard-working, passionate and business-savvy to make a product successful
- Thrive on challenging and rewarding problems as well as understanding that commitment and work ethics are keys to your success
About you
- You are a creative thinker and able to break down complex and ambiguous problems into deliverable solutions
- Effective product and engineering team management skills combined with capabilities to lead
- Entrepreneurial approach to product management with the creativity and the ability to think deeper into any given area of the product
- Ability to work with cross-functional, global teams to deliver on a common goal
- Some knowledge of the tech industry would be a great advantage but is not essential to fulfilling the needs of the role
Experience that will help you succeed
- Strong, in-depth knowledge and experience of the online technologies, not limited to the domain industry, including relevant technologies and the management of online related services
- Experience in Research and Development in the online industry
- Experience in project management, working with internal and external stakeholders and managing competing expectations, running projects with clear deadlines for multiple teams
- Previous experience of launching successful products into market
