TeamJobs are recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Manager to join a well-established, family-run food distribution business in Poole. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on Warehouse Manager who enjoys leading from the front. You'll have ownership of the twilight operation, managing a team of 10-16 people and making sure everything is picked, packed and ready for the first deliveries of the morning. This isn't a desk-based management role. We're looking for someone who can lead the team, hold high standards and get stuck in when needed.
Hours & Salary
- 34,000- 40,000 per annum
- 5:00pm-2:30am
- 45 hours per week
- Sunday-Friday, with one night off each week
What you'll be doing
- Taking ownership of the twilight warehouse operation
- Leading and motivating a team of 10-16 Warehouse Operatives
- Ensuring orders are picked accurately and ready for despatch by 2:00am
- Managing performance, attendance, productivity and standards
- Working hands-on with the team when required
- Managing rotas, reviews, recruitment, investigations and disciplinaries
- Monitoring picking accuracy and warehouse efficiency
- Supporting the move from paper pick lists to handheld scanners
- Working closely with Warehouse and Transport teams to ensure a smooth handover
- Maintaining high standards of health & safety and housekeeping Warehouse management, shift management or supervisory experience
- Experience leading teams in a busy warehouse/distribution environment
- Previous night or twilight shift experience
- Confident people management skills - you'll need to be comfortable having difficult conversations and holding standards
- A hands-on approach and willingness to support the operation
- Experience with warehouse systems, scanners or process improvements would be beneficial
- Food, FMCG, chilled, frozen or short shelf-life experience would be a great advantage
- Counterbalance/Reach Forklift licence advantageous - training can be provided
