We are seeking a knowledgeable and hands-on Control Valve Technician to join our team at Wilton Works in Middlesbrough. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, calibration, and testing of a wide range of control valves and actuators in line with industry standards and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain, overhaul, and repair a variety of control valves, including pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric actuator types.
  • Calibrate valve positioners and instrumentation to ensure optimal performance and compliance with specifications.
  • Perform diagnostics and fault-finding on valve control systems.
  • Conduct functional and pressure testing of control valves and related components.
  • Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental procedures, including safety checks on tools and equipment.
  • Accurately record all valve maintenance and testing data in the Valve Management Database.
  • Promote and demonstrate the company’s Core Values in all aspects of daily work.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical or Instrumentation Engineering, ONC in Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience working with control valves and actuators in an industrial setting is essential.
  • OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) training is desirable but not required.
  • Proficient in the use of calibration equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and safety.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong record-keeping and data management skills.
