Principal Accountabilities
- Lead the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring all tasks are delivered in line with the working-day timetable.
- Review and approve specific journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure the integrity of the general ledger and alignment with global accounting policies.
- Maintain fixed asset registers, ensuring proper capitalisation, depreciation, and disposals.
- Oversee inventory accounting, reconciliation and control processes in partnership with operational teams.
- Manage lease accounting processes (e.g. IFRS 16), including right-of-use asset and liability calculations.
- Ensure intercompany balances are reconciled and resolved promptly.
Financial Controls, Governance & Compliance
- Maintain strong internal control compliance across all financial processes.
- Oversee balance sheet governance, ensuring reconciliations are completed, reviewed, and fully understood.
- Ensure compliance with global accounting policies and accounting standards.
- Support internal and external audits through preparation of schedules, evidence, and responses.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, reporting and systems.
Cashflow, Working Capital & Treasury Support
- Lead the preparation of the weekly 13-week cash flow forecast with insights into risks and opportunities.
- Monitor working capital performance, including debtors, creditors and stock.
- Oversee the AP process, ensuring strong controls, supplier management and approval workflow compliance.
- Support cash discipline across the organisation, ensuring timely and accurate cash management practices.
Financial Governance & Control
- Ensure strong financial controls are in place across operational areas, including revenue, cost and margin management.
- Support operational budgeting, forecasting and financial planning, ensuring accuracy and ownership.
- Support audit processes and ensure compliance with relevant financial and regulatory standards.
- Champion continuous improvement in financial processes, systems and reporting.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach and support the finance team to deliver high-quality outputs and meet deadlines.
- Manage team priorities and workflows, ensuring effective resource allocation.
- Develop team capability through coaching, training and regular performance feedback.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and collaboration.
Essential Skills and Knowledge Required
