We are seeking a knowledgeable and hands-on Control Valve Technician to join our team at Wilton Works in Middlesbrough. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, calibration, and testing of a wide range of control valves and actuators in line with industry standards and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, overhaul, and repair a variety of control valves, including pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric actuator types.
- Calibrate valve positioners and instrumentation to ensure optimal performance and compliance with specifications.
- Perform diagnostics and fault-finding on valve control systems.
- Conduct functional and pressure testing of control valves and related components.
- Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental procedures, including safety checks on tools and equipment.
- Accurately record all valve maintenance and testing data in the Valve Management Database.
- Promote and demonstrate the company’s Core Values in all aspects of daily work.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical or Instrumentation Engineering, ONC in Engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience working with control valves and actuators in an industrial setting is essential.
- OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) training is desirable but not required.
- Proficient in the use of calibration equipment and diagnostic tools.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and safety.
- Capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong record-keeping and data management skills.
