This established and expanding engineering consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager to lead the growth of its Structural Engineering division.

Due to continued growth, this is a new strategic role to increase market share, secure high-value structural engineering commissions and build long-term relationships with clients across the construction industry.

You'll take ownership of business development across the Structural Engineering business, identifying new opportunities and creating sustainable growth within both existing and emerging markets.

Working closely with the Directors and engineering teams, you'll develop relationships with developers, architects, project managers, contractors and consultants to secure structural engineering commissions across a diverse portfolio of projects, including commercial, residential, industrial, infrastructure and public sector developments.

You'll lead the commercial aspects of major opportunities, from identifying projects and qualifying leads through to tender submissions, commercial negotiations and successful appointment.

You will also be responsible for managing and developing a team of 3 sales executives, mentoring and helping them grow the business.

We're looking for someone with a proven track record of sales and business development within the structural engineering consultancy sector or a closely related engineering consultancy environment.

You'll be confident building relationships with senior decision makers and understand how structural engineering consultants engage with developers, architects, contractors and project teams throughout the construction lifecycle.

You will need to have a strong understanding of the UK construction market and procurement routes along with excellent networking, presentation and relationship management skills.

Package: £50-60,000 Basic, £10,000 OTE, Business and Travel Expenses, Company Pension
