Are you passionate about working with young people in an educational setting? Do you have great communication and organisation skills? Are you confident in making decisions that will benefit a child in their learning journey? At Team Educate we are working closely with a primary school in the Swansea area, who are looking to recruit teaching assistants to join their team. You will be working alongside a class teacher within classes of up to 30 students. This is a full-time position between 8.30-15.30, Monday to Friday with an ideal start in April 2025.

As a primary school teaching assistant, you will assist with lesson delivery where appropriate and contribute positively to the overall management of the classroom. You will have support from the class teacher as well as the senior leadership team.

Duties of a Primary School teaching assistant:
  • Supporting students on a 1:1 basis within the classroom environment.
  • Providing additional support to students who may be falling behind academically.
  • Work alongside the class teacher to collate resources for lessons and set up learning activities.
  • Supporting the class teacher with additional administration tasks to maintain efficiency in the classroom.
Experience required of a Primary School teaching assistant:
  • Relevant qualifications to the role.
  • Experience within a classroom setting or in working with children.
  • Good communication, organisation and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of working with children with SEN (beneficial but not essential).
The Role:
  • Duration: Full Time (Monday-Friday 8:30-15:30)
  • Pay Rate: £100-£115 per Day
  • Start date: April 2025

The successful applicant will be required to have:

  • A valid DBS certificate, or be willing to put an application through.
  • A right to work in the UK.
  • A passion for teaching and learning.
  • 2 years’ worth of contactable references.
