We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant in the Midsomer Norton area to join our team in supporting the educational, social and personal development of children with complex special educational needs (SEND).
The role involves assisting teachers in creating a positive learning environment for young learners, as well as providing personal care and support to key pupils. If you have a passion for supporting young pupils with complex learning needs, and have a background in providing support to young people in a range of settings (either educational or health and social care), we would love to hear from you!
Duties of SEND Teaching Assistants:- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals
- Work closely with children with autism and special educational needs
- Assist in educating children through various activities and tasks
- Support teachers in implementing individual education plans for students
- Implement strategies as part of individual pupils' Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
- Experience working with children with SEN
- Knowledge of special education practices and principles
- Ability to work effectively with children with complex learning and physical needs
- Strong communication skills to interact with teachers, parents, and students in monitoring progress
- Relevant qualifications in childcare, education or health care are desirable
