Job Description

At Team Educate we are recruiting for a Primary Teaching Assistant in the Cardiff area. You will be assisting the Teacher within a classroom environment of up to 30 learners.

This is a full-time position between 8:30-15:30, Monday to Friday to start in October 2025. As a Primary School Teaching Assistant, you will support the children and young people on both a 1:1 basis and in groups and support the Teacher with overall classroom support.

Duties of a Primary School teaching assistant:

  • Support learners on a 1:1 basis within a classroom environment
  • Identify and support learners who may need extra support both emotionally and academically
  • Work alongside the teacher with organising resources and setting up the classroom ready for learners

Experience required of a Primary School Teaching Assistant:

  • Relevant qualification to the role
  • Experience within a classroom setting or working with children
  • Good written and verbal communication and organisation skills
  • Experience of working with children with SEN (beneficial but not essential)

The Role:

  • Position: Primary School Teaching Assistant
  • Duration: Full Time (Monday-Friday 8:30-15:30)
  • Pay Rate: £100-£115 per day
  • Start date: October 2025

The successful applicant will be required to have:

  • A valid DBS certificate, or be willing to put an application through
  • A right to work in the UK
  • A passion for teaching and learning
  • 2 years’ worth of contactable references
