Key Information for 3.5 ton Delivery Driver:
- Location: Eastleigh and the surrounding areas.
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am until 5pm
- Salary: £13 per hour (with overtime paid at time and a half)
- 28 days paid holiday including bank holidays
Our client is seeking an experienced, proactive and efficient 3.5 ton Delivery Driver to join their team in the Eastleigh area. This role will require the successful candidate to hold a full, clean UK drivers licence, have a willingness to work in the warehouse when required and to be a supportive team player.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensuring standards of the delivery vehicle – including daily vehicle checks, maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle and ensuring faults are reported within a timely manner.
- Assisting with deliveries – assisting the driver with directions, picking and packing, loading and unloading of vehicles, and ensuring that deliveries arrive in expected condition and in a timely manner.
- Warehouse duties – stock taking (when required/ for yearly stock check), day-to-day administration and manual tasks (as directed by line manager), ensuring that the warehouse is tidy and safe for yourself and your colleagues.
- Ensuring that you are fulfilling legal duty to take reasonable care of yourself and others, co-operating with health and safety guidelines of the company.
- Following GDPR requirements (of both the company and their clients).
- Resolving customer queries/warranty/credits/complaints to the satisfaction of all parties.
- Identifying and working with third party distribution providers, identifying potential problems to ensure the smooth flow of orders and customer satisfaction.
- Maintaining close contact with customer service staff, understanding their working practices and being proactive in preventing the occurrence of avoidable problems for our customers.
- Communicating enquiries to the External Sales Engineers to enable maximisation of potential sales.
- Providing cover within the branch/trade counter during unplanned absences.
- Ensuring that the warehouse and trade counter support sales in achieving product sales and market share in accordance with company objectives.
- Communicating effectively with the Branch Manager.
- Acquiring and demonstrating the necessary selling skills, product knowledge and understanding of company policy to work effectively.
- Providing assistance and motivation to all colleagues when required.
- Working within Focus sales procedures in the branch environment.
- Working with the Branch Manager to ensure that customers’ required levels of service are being met.
- Ensuring that complaints, as they affect your direct responsibility, are promptly dealt with in a professional manner.
- Maintaining company property to the required standard.
- Representing the company in a business-like manner and maintaining a standard of dress and appearance in keeping with the job and position within the company.
- Being prepared to assist with out-of-hours services to customers when the need arises.
- Participating in company annual stock check.
- Any ad hoc duties as required by the Branch Manager or a Director.
Essential qualities for the role:
- Effective communicator.
- Team player and helpful in assisting colleagues and customers.
- Selling skills, product knowledge and understanding of company policy required to work effectively on the trade counter.
- Must be fit enough to carry and handle furniture.
Shifts: Monday to Friday, 7:30am until 5pm
Nature of the Role: This position is a temporary ongoing position, with the potential for a successful 3.5 ton Delivery Driver to secure a permanent role (dependent on performance).
