Derbyshire Constabulary is seeking an evaluation of the current Mobile Working Capability and recommendations for enhancing the mobile infrastructure and user operability.

About the work:

  • Limited discussions with Citrix have provided links to Computacenter and Cetus Solutions who have case references for Citrix based solutions.
  • Engagement with Regional colleagues at Nottinghamshire Police who have deployed HCL, via BES 12 across 1000 devices.

Who the specialist will work with:

  • A small IT project team comprising technicians who administer XenMobile and associated services as well as Police Business Leads.

What the specialist will work on:

  • Evaluation of the current environment to assess sustainability with the intention to roll-out approximately 1500 devices using core police mobile apps.
  • Independent advice on other possible solutions in respect of the infrastructure to include MDM, Middleware, Devices (Android, Windows or iOS) and Data Provider.

Work setup:

  • Expected to work at Derbyshire, Ripley.

Working arrangements:

  • Initial advice on best approach is expected, with face-to-face meetings at appropriate times.
  • Remote working can be arranged and would need to be discussed.

Security clearance:

  • All will need to be SC cleared. NPPV Level 2.

Qualifications:

Essential skills and experience:

  • Experience of evaluating mobile solutions.
  • Experience of recommending mobile solutions to large organisations with security requirements similar to Police Forces.

Nice-to-have skills and experience:

  • Experience of consulting on large organisational digital solutions with similar security requirements as Police Forces.
  • Ability to be flexible in start time.
