Reporting to the Head of Front End Innovation, your role will involve the strategic leadership and research support to advisory, consulting and pre-development healthcare-focused projects. You will draw extensively on your consulting skills and technical expertise to liaise directly with clients, developing and promoting our growing reputation in FEI, responding to enquiries and converting opportunities. You will take a lead role on projects - providing strategic advice, managing time and budget to a diverse range of international clients and often senior stakeholders. You will plan and facilitate strategy workshops (both onsite and remote) with clients and colleagues across a broad range of exciting briefs. In addition, you will organise and participate in primary and secondary research and analysis across a wide range of technical, user and commercial subject areas – the output of which will support strategic recommendations and provide our clients with the evidence and confidence they need to move forwards.
Role and responsibilities
- Leadership of FEI projects – including client liaison, supplier management, creating and leading multidisciplinary teams of colleagues, budget management, project logistics and administration – ensuring we are complying with our internal processes and industry guidelines, regulations and directives.
- Marcoms and Business development – Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities, leveraging existing networks and developing client relationships. Represent Team in marketing campaigns, thought leadership, client meetings and proposal planning activities.
- Thought leadership and capability growth - working with the Head of FEI to monitor trends, develop and share thought leadership content pieces and identify new opportunities and tools, to build and grow our FEI capabilities and engage new clients.
- Technology Landscaping - secondary research to map, scout and assess enabling technologies and devices. You will help define requirements, profile and assess technologies and make recommendations for technologies to meet clients’ needs.
- Competitor/commercial analysis - secondary research into the commercial and competitor landscape e.g. competitor profiling, market opportunity sizing, pipeline research and identifying commercial licensing and acquisition opportunities.
- Market insights research – Identifying, profiling and engaging KOLs. Co-ordinating and participating in exploratory research with KOLs, patients, health care professionals and other key stakeholders, utilising a range of F2F and remote research tools. Analysis and reporting of findings in a clear and concise manner. Exploring and assessing new research tools.
- Workshop facilitation – working closely with clients in the preparation and compilation of content for workshop activities e.g. preparing stimulus, collaboration and creative activities and presentation material. Facilitation of remote and face to face workshops with multi-disciplinary senior client groups.
In this role there will be the opportunity to develop your skills in Front End Innovation, and knowledge and expertise in the healthcare industry across a wide range of exciting innovation projects - working closely with our experienced facilitators, innovation specialists and the other technical disciplines involved.
Qualifications & Skills
- 2.1 or higher degree in a relevant technical subject e.g. STEM, Design
- Significant experience in a medical/life-science focused consultant, research or technical role
- Experience and knowledge in strategic consulting
- Experience and knowledge in healthcare and medical devices
- Experience in exploratory user research and applying insights to strategic recommendations
- Experience in a consulting role
- Experience in undertaking IP landscaping, economic modelling and business case development
