We are currently looking for a Driver/Labourer (7.5 Tonne) to join The Sovini Group. This position is a permanent opportunity. As a Driver/Labourer (7.5 Tonne) you will be expected to:

  • Assist the team leader and scaffolders in ensuring that all scaffolds are securely fixed to permanent structures and carry out associated testing of all fixing points.
  • Train/work towards the competencies required to become a PASMA Operative or Tube and Fit Scaffolder (CISRS).
  • Always work to a safe system of work that is appropriate to the design of scaffold required when erecting, dismantling and altering scaffolds. You must always use your harness, lanyard, safety step and advanced handrails.
  • Assist the team in the erection of the scaffolding fully in accordance with either the appropriate TG standard or bespoke design or PASMA Guidance that has been prepared for the installation.
  • Always act professionally and comply with the company procedures and the content of your Risk Assessment, Method Statement and Dismantling Plan.
  • Ensure all checks are completed to your PPE each day and follow the company’s safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all materials being used are in good condition.
  • Ensure all materials are always stacked safely on site, never leave materials stood up against the scaffold or buildings.
  • Liaise with Client and Site Safety Personnel. Ensure all works are carried out and completed to a high standard.
  • Identify specific needs for customers and ensure the service is tailored accordingly.
  • Develop the company’s commitment to equality and diversity and to promote non-discriminatory practices in all aspects of work undertaken.
  • Adhere with section 7 of the Health and Safety at Work Act to take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts and omissions.
  • Take instruction and carry out the operational duties of projects ensuring they are completed in the set timescales.
  • Report any incidents, however minor, to your Team Leader and/or Manager immediately.
  • The full implementation of risk assessments and method statements.

To be successful in a Driver/Labourer (7.5 Tonne) role, the skills you will need:

  • Ability to assist in the erect and dismantle of scaffold in a safe compliant manner.
  • Experience working in a scaffold business.
  • Experience of working on various site types.
  • Ability to labour on both Tube and Fit & PASMA Scaffolders.
  • Effective communication at all levels in the business.
  • Excellent understanding of the vision for Teal Scaffold as communicated through the Sovini Group.
  • Commitment to customer care and the provision of a high-quality service.
  • A high level of self-motivation and enthusiasm.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to communicate across multiple channels including Microsoft Teams, Face to Face and Email.

Experience or Knowledge of the below would be advantageous but not essential:

  • CISRS or CSCS card
  • PASMA U card
  • Driving license held for a minimum of 12 months plus class 1 to drive a 7.5 tonne vehicle
  • Basic financial understanding of key targets for your team on a daily and weekly basis.
