We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Fitter (Level 3) to join our growing in-house production team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a modern electrical/electronics assembly environment while working under supervision and guidance of experienced engineers. You will support new product introduction and existing product assembly, as well as maintenance of production equipment, contributing to the day-to-day running of the production department. As part of your apprenticeship, you will develop practical skills, technical knowledge, and an understanding of production processes. Ideally, we are looking for someone willing to push themselves to do more than product assembly, working with electronics and firmware engineers to develop test rigs, test procedures as well as manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Production & Assembly Support
- Assist with the assembly of mechanical and electronic components.
- Support fitting, wiring, and basic build of production equipment and products.
- Follow technical drawings, work instructions, and build documentation.
- Carry out basic inspection and testing tasks under supervision.
- Facility & Equipment Support
- Assist in the setup and organisation of the production area.
- Help install and maintain production equipment (e.g., assembly tools, test rigs).
- Support routine maintenance and calibration activities.
- Ensure tools and equipment are stored and maintained correctly.
- Process & Quality
- Follow established production and quality control processes.
- Assist in identifying defects and reporting issues to senior staff.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, products tested etc.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting ideas and learning best practices.
- Health, Safety & Compliance
- Work in accordance with company health and safety procedures at all times.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
- Report hazards, near misses, or incidents promptly.
- Learning & Development
- Actively participate in the Level 3 apprenticeship programme.
- Develop skills in mechanical fitting, electronics assembly, and manufacturing processes.
- Work closely with experienced team members to build competence and confidence.
- Take responsibility for personal learning and progression.
- Upon completion of apprenticeship programme, should the candidate wish, continue in achieving subsequent qualifications, HNC, HND, Degree apprenticeship.
