ACCOUNT COORDINATOR, PUBLIC RELATIONS
Account Coordinators (AC) support the execution of public relations and social media campaigns, in accordance with client objectives and budgets. They are solutions-oriented, go-getters who can juggle multiple projects. These individuals are stewards of news and culture, are knowledgeable about AI and excited to utilize it, and have a strong desire to develop their national media and influencer relation skills and thrive in a fast, team-oriented agency culture.
This is a full-time position based in the Greater Boston office and also works remotely and willreport to an account manager, assistant director, director, AVP, and/or SVP.This position can manage interns.
Responsibilities
- Support multiple clients at once
- Attend and participate in client meetings
- Prepare client status documents, action items, notes and media reports
- Monitor and share client industry news
- Draft and design social media campaign content and engage in social listening and community engagement
- Perform media relations activities including:
- Update media contact database and develops media lists
- Draft press releases and other PR content
- Conduct national, regional and local media outreach
- Research influencers and support social media programming in collaboration with the social media manager
- Research award and conference speaking opportunities
- Provide onsite event support
- Brainstorm ideas for client presentations and plans
- When called upon, participate in and help with new business presentations
- Eagerness to learn and leverage necessary AI tools and PR platforms needed to execute on behalf of clients
- Contribute to and help create a creative and inclusive work environment.
Qualifications
- Four-year degree in public relations, journalism, communications or applicable experience in a related field
- At least one year of experience in an agency, client-side role or related internships
- Working knowledge of AI and familiarity with key tools that are used in the PR industry, such as Muckrack
- Media, social media and influencer relations experience
- Knowledge of digital marketing platforms (e.g., Facebook Ads, Google Analytics) and multimedia content creation tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.)
- Strong and mature writer and good storytelling skills
- Has impeccable grammar
- Experience with PR measurement practices
- Is detail oriented and has strong time management skills
