*Teachsport Canterbury are looking for a primary school sports coach/playworker to join our exciting team in Ashford at Bodsham C Of E Primary School. *
*This is a part-time position (3 hours per day) for our after-school wrapround care during term-time. Extra hours at other school sites in Folkestone & Dover during term-time (currently Monday & Tuesday) until September 2025 where it\'ll be Monday to Friday solely at Bodsham Primary. There is an opportunity for extra hours during the school holidays at one of our Teachsport activity clubs. *
*Job Summary: *
*-*Assist with day-to-day activities of the club
-Provide quality play care within the framework of the club\'s policies and procedures
*Line Manager: *Club Manager

*Main duties include: *
-Assist with planning, preparing and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment.
-Providing comprehensive care for children including collecting them from wrapround care club and safely delivering them to parents and carers.
- Setting up the play space, ready for children attending club i.e moving furniture and play equipment
- Create a safe and engaging environment for children to learn and have fun
- Supervise and interact with children during playtime
- Provide guidance and support to children as they explore and participate in various activities
- Encourage social interaction and promote positive behaviour among children
- Assist with the setup and clean-up of play areas
-Providing refreshments and ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met
-Administering first aid when necessary
-Consulting with children and involving them in planning activities
-Helping with club administration, where necessary (i.e signing children in and out of club)
-Encouraging parental feedback in the club
-Facilitating good communication with all members of the organisation, parents and schools.

-Keeping the work environment healthy, safe and secure

*Essential qualities:*
-Experience of working with 4 to 11 year olds
-Experience in sports coaching or leading group activities is a plus
-Ability to engage and connect with children of different ages and backgrounds
-Understanding the varied needs of children and their families
-Understanding the issues involved in the delivery of quality play care
-Understanding the issues of equal opportunities
-Provide and facilitate safe and creative play
-Good communication skills
-Able to work as part of a team
-Sound judgement and common sense
- Sufficient understanding and use of English to ensure the well-being of the children\\*
-An Enhanced DBS check for working with children, within the past 3 years
-Appropriate child protection and safeguarding training
-Current Paediatric First Aid Certificate
-Food Hygiene Certificate

-Experience of working within a play-based setting

-Competent in using IT to support play and club administration
