About the Role
Oakview Primary School, part of the Generations Multi Academy Trust, is seeking an exceptional Deputy Principal to join our vibrant, one-form entry primary school in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire. This is a full-time leadership role starting in September 2026. The successful candidate will shape the strategic direction of the school, ensure high standards of teaching, learning, and pupil outcomes, and foster a culture of excellence and inclusion. As Deputy Principal you will work closely with the Principal and the Senior Leadership Team to lead on school improvement initiatives, manage staff development, and oversee the implementation of a broad and balanced curriculum. This role also includes deputising for the Principal when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement the school’s aims, objectives, and policies.
- Lead on curriculum development and assessment across all phases, including EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
- Monitor academic attainment and progress, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
- Mentor and coach staff to foster professional growth and maintain a culture of excellence.
- Promote positive behaviour and uphold the school’s values of compassion, curiosity, and courage.
- Engage with parents and the wider community to build strong partnerships.
- Ensure the safety and welfare of pupils and staff through effective safeguarding practices.
- Manage resources efficiently and contribute to the school’s strategic development plan.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in a related subject (essential).
- Proven leadership and management experience in a school setting.
- Demonstrable experience in curriculum leadership, staff development, and school improvement.
- Strong understanding of primary education, including EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Ability to inspire and motivate staff, pupils, and the wider school community.
