Overview
Level 3 Teaching Assistant — Grade E plus SEN Allowance
The Heights Academy, Auckland Drive, Solihull, B36 0DD
Hours: 32.5 per week, Permanent, Term Time Only (39 weeks per year)

Forward Education Trust is an established MAT of six special schools based in the West Midlands, covering areas in Sandwell, Birmingham and Solihull. The Heights Academy opened in September 2023 in a brand-new build, and this is a unique and exciting opportunity to be part of the next stage of the journey of growth and development. Initially we are open to pupils in Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3, but over time, will grow to cater for 116 pupils across Key Stage 2, 3 and 4. All of our pupils have an EHCP with a diagnosis of Autism.
About the role
We are looking for highly effective, creative and inspirational Teaching Assistants who will be able to enthuse and engage our autistic learners and support them to develop and reach their potential.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to pupils with Autism and SEND in Key Stage 2, 3 or 4 as required.
- Demonstrate previous teaching experience and skills working with children in KS2, KS3 or KS4.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to support pupils to develop academically and socially.
Qualifications
- Qualified to NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent, with evidence of this qualification.
- Experience of working with children with special needs and autism.
