The school is looking to recruit an inspirational teacher to join the Physical Education (PE) Department with the ability to teach a second subject. St Edmund’s has an outstanding record of sporting achievement and results, and we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivational member of staff to join the team.

In PE, we aim to provide pupils with an exciting and fulfilling curriculum in which many different teaching styles are used. We love the idea of pupils taking responsibility and roles within PE lessons, which allows them to develop respect, maturity, leadership skills, and social interactions. Our teaching prides itself on pupil discovery, and we feel as a Department that methods such as trial and error, whole-part-whole, and guided discovery are key for pupil development.

In lessons, pupils will experience pupil-led warm-ups, exciting and innovative drills, and lots of conditioned games which allow them to apply and evaluate the skills learnt. This is an exciting time to join us: you will be part of our St Edmund’s family and a determined team, built on an ethos of trust and collaboration.

As a member of St Edmund’s Catholic School, you will receive excellent professional development and a variety of support through our T & L team.

You will be well supported by and contribute to a friendly, hard-working, and talented team, fantastic staff, and lovely pupils. You will have the potential to become an outstanding PE teacher. This role is full time.

In line with Safer Recruitment guidance, the school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff to share this commitment. DBS disclosure at Enhanced level will be required prior to any offer of appointment. As part of our Safer Recruitment guidance, social media profiles will be checked upon appointment. The school is unable to offer sponsorship; therefore only candidates that already have the right to work in the UK can apply.
