Sherwood Foundation School is a Foundation Special School located in the London Borough of Sutton, comprised of three campuses catering to learners with complex needs.

  • Sherwood Park Campus: Specialist for learners aged 3–19 with severe, multiple, and complex learning difficulties and/or disabilities, requiring high levels of adult support.
  • Sherwood Hill Campus: Specialist for autistic learners aged 3–19 with multiple and complex barriers to learning, requiring high levels of support to access education and learning around their peers.
  • Sherwood Manor Campus: Specialist for autistic learners aged 11–19 with moderate to severe barriers to learning, requiring a highly adapted formal learning environment with high levels of adult support.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate and work effectively and supportively as a member of the school team with students, parents, carers, other staff and external agencies.
  • Establish positive relationships with students and empathise with their needs.
  • Provide individual attention, reassurance, and help with learning tasks appropriate to students’ needs.
  • Physically support learners, including those who use wheelchairs or special seating systems, and hoist and position pupils when necessary; guidance and manual-handling training will be provided.
  • Work with learners on independence and self-care procedures, supporting pupils with intimate and personal care with dignity and respect.
