We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic teacher to join our hard working and committed team. The vacancy is for a teacher in our Progression Pathway who can deliver a curriculum suited to subject specific pupils who have a range of learning difficulties and are taught using a highly adapted, individualised curriculum. Knowledge and understanding of an EYFS/Key Stage 1 primary curriculum would be a strength.
Candidates must also have a willingness to further their own professional development by attending relevant courses and implementing new initiatives that would increase your understanding of our progression pathway and how to fully support our pupils’ needs.

Kemball School, part of the Orchard Community Trust, is a day special school for pupils with cognitive and learning difficulties. There are currently 227 pupils on roll aged 3-19. Dependent on need, pupils are educated in one of our four bespoke pathways. This particular vacancy is within the progression pathway.

Across all pathways, our curriculum offer includes daily maths, English, Read Write Inc phonics/spelling interventions and writing/reading interventions alongside carefully planned topics. We have an excellent in-house CPD offer that can support you in transitioning into the role of a special school teacher.
Application and selection process:
Applications from ECT candidates are welcome. Non-contact time of 1 day per fortnight. Shortlisted candidates are encouraged to come and observe the current class teacher teach the class before being invited to deliver a lesson w/c 23 February. Lesson observations and interviews will take place on 2 March 2026. Closing date is 22 February 2026. The ideal start date is 13 April 2026, however we are happy to offer flexibility for the right candidate.
