What skills and experience we’re looking for:
We are seeking to appoint an experienced individual to the role of Operations Officer at Sheffield Springs Academy. The role will last approximately 12 to 15 months to cover maternity leave. This is an exciting opportunity to support the Operations Manager in embedding systems and procedures across the academy and to support day‑to‑day operations. The successful person will ensure and contribute to the smooth running of all operational functions.
The successful post‑holder will be a key team member, benefiting from the support and knowledge of colleagues within the academy, across the Yorkshire Cluster and United Learning. This role will be highly rewarding and a fantastic start or continuation of working within the Education Sector and Operations.
This role requires a focused, organised, proactive and passionate individual who enjoys working both independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will be a highly efficient person, motivated to achieve academy objectives, an excellent communicator, with outstanding attention to detail and a positive, resilient and approachable attitude.
The role includes communicating and working with a large number of stakeholders. The successful candidate will contribute to operational objectives on a day‑to‑day basis and support team targets. This is a challenging yet highly rewarding role with a supportive and welcoming employer.

- A professional with validated operational services experience.
- Experience of developing a high‑quality administrative service.
- Strong problem‑solving capabilities.
- Ability to present operational proposals in a simple and effective way to senior internal collaborators.
- Good collaboration skills, including an ability to set expectations and balance conflicting demands.
- Report writing and presenting to a variety of audiences.
- Excellent IT skills.
- Ability to effectively contribute to the review and development of policies and procedures.
- Good organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to adapt to a changing and diverse workload with autonomy and resilience.
- Demonstrate a positive, proactive and professional approach at all times.
