Overview

The successful candidate will:

  • need to be creative, understand how children learn and be able to form excellent relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
  • have experience of working with pupils with significant needs.
  • predominantly work within the resource provision, but must also be prepared to work within a whole class setting if appropriate.
  • work with children who have additional needs (SEND) in addition to undertaking other duties which support the education and well-being of all pupils.
  • be expected to maintain the high standards established in our school and use strategies in liaison with the teacher to support pupils to achieve their full potential in their learning.
  • also be expected to prepare, maintain and use any equipment/resources required in order to deliver the planned relevant learning activity.
  • have strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • have energy and enthusiasm with a positive attitude.
  • be passionate about working with children who have SEN.

Fixed Term for 2 years

Boughton Leigh Junior School is seeking to recruit a passionate, resilient and empathetic Level 2 teaching assistant to work within our specialist resource provision – The Launchpad. We are looking to appoint an experienced, highly motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant for 15-20 hours per week. The role will be supporting pupils who have EHCPs with moderate to complex communication and interaction needs/ASD. The successful candidate needs to have a passion for supporting children with additional needs and be able to use their initiative to adapt to the needs of the children within the provision. You need to have an empathetic nurturing approach, in line with our ethos and expectations.

Recent experience of working with children with additional needs would be desirable (please include details in your application). You will join a supportive team and have the chance to grow professionally in a rewarding environment. We encourage you to come and visit us and talk to staff.
