We are seeking a Fully Trained and Qualified Teacher (PGCE/QTS) to serve as Second in the Department for Autism Resource at Blessed Hugh Faringdon Catholic School. The role supports our Head of the Autism Resource in leading and managing specialist provision for students with an EHCP for Autism within a mainstream setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head of the Autism Resource in leading and managing the provision, its staff, and contributing to future development.
  • Work with teachers, teaching assistants and external professionals to set aspirational standards of progress and achievement for SEND students.
  • Provide specialist support to students with autism, ensuring they benefit from mainstream education.

Qualifications and Experience

  • PGCE/QTS required.
  • Managerial experience within an educational setting.
  • Understanding of autism and experience working with SEND students.
  • Skill in meeting the needs of students within a mainstream classroom.
