Inspiration Trust are seeking to appoint a Visiting Music Teacher with a Piano and Singing specialism. The role involves planning and delivering high‑quality instrumental/vocal teaching across multiple Academies, facilitating co‑curricular musical opportunities, supporting examinations and performances, and collaborating with school leaders and the music teacher coordinator.

Salary: Unqualified Teachers Pay Scale (UNQ) / Qualified Teachers Pay Scale: Main Pay Scale (MPS) - Start Date: September 2026

Responsibilities

  • Plan and teach well‑structured lessons that support pupils in making progress across all age groups (primary to secondary).
  • Prepare pupils for performances and examination opportunities as appropriate.
  • Facilitate and promote a learning experience that provides all pupils, including SEND and disadvantaged students, with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.
  • Assess, record and report on the progress, development and attainment of pupils, maintaining required records.
  • Facilitate extra‑curricular musical opportunities across multiple academies within the Trust.
  • Communicate effectively with the Director of Music, school leaders and the music teacher coordinator to fulfil the requirements of the role.
  • Lead and assist with ensemble activities (choirs, ensembles, performance opportunities).
  • Provide support during out‑of‑school hours for rehearsals, performances and exams.

Experience

  • Teaching a range of ages, from primary to secondary pupils.
  • Teaching a wide range of abilities from complete beginner to intermediate and advanced students.
  • Experience within a school environment.
  • Leading and assisting with ensemble activities.
  • Experience teaching pupils in KS4.
