What skills and experience we\’re looking for
Main duties
The IT Technician will be responsible for general maintenance of defined computer equipment and for resolving technical problems, as well as undertaking tasks that promote ICT use across the Warriner Multi Academy Trust.
The work schedule includes the following main tasks across the MAT, covering ICT equipment used throughout:
- Use of the IT Service Desk to resolve support incidents in line with service level agreements.
- Support the Trust in all aspects of IT service provision via helpdesk, email, telephone, and in-person responses.
- Utilize Windows Server services such as Active Directory and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit.
- Manage users and devices using cloud platforms like Microsoft 365.
- Diagnose and repair IT hardware faults and arrange warranty repairs.
- Participate in new IT projects, innovations, and equipment refreshes.
- Create, maintain, and disseminate help documentation for departments and end-users.
- Provide support outside normal hours for school events like parents’ evenings.
- Monitor and maintain stock of consumables.
- Track and update asset information.
- Use initiative to resolve issues and manage time effectively.

- Knowledge of new developments in software and hardware.
Additional Duties
- Train staff in the use of general-purpose and office software where appropriate.
- Support ICT development within MAT schools.
- Report any damage or malicious activity.
- Document repair and upgrade procedures.
- Take responsibility for health and safety within your department.
- Contribute to policy development regarding quality standards and strategic planning.
- Log IT visits to primary schools within the MAT.

- Use work items provided, including PPE, correctly.
- Do not interfere with or misuse health and safety equipment.
