Responsibilities
- Lead by example and model high professional standards to ensure student attainment, progress, discipline and motivation.
- Set high expectations for behaviour, create purposeful learning environments, and uphold school policies.
- Collaborate within the department and school to raise standards through the ethos and values.
- Accountable to the Curriculum Leader for teaching and learning standards.
- Plan and deliver lessons aligned to national curriculum, using effective strategies to support under‑performing students.
- Monitor attainment, provide feedback, and use assessment data to inform teaching.
- Prepare and maintain robust student progress reports for parents/carers.
- Stay updated on national developments, contribute to CPD, and develop expertise.
- Contribute to curriculum development, resources, and decorative displays.
- Coordinate departmental visits, excursions, and organise tutor activities.
- Ensure all school policies are consistently implemented and promote the work of the department.
