Lunchtime Supervisor job summary
Working alongside the other members of our Lunchtime team, you will be responsible for supervising and helping the children during lunchtimes.
At the start of lunchtime, each Lunchtime Supervisor will supervise the children whilst they are eating their lunch, opening packets etc, helping children maintain a calm atmosphere and assisting with any difficulties, including spills, which the children may have.
At the end of lunchtime, Lunchtime Supervisors assist with the tasks of lining children up and bringing them into school. They then have at least 5 minutes to communicate with class teachers so that teachers are aware of any problems and good news that has occurred during lunchtime. This helps the children to see that lunchtime is part of their school day and is not treated separately from the rest of the day.
Each half term Lunchtime Supervisors will attend a meeting with the Headteacher and/or Deputy Head. This meeting will include training and discussion of current issues. It will last approximately 20 minutes and will occur outside the normal lunchtime duty times. There is an allowance for attendance at these meetings built into the 6½ hours payment per week.
No experience necessary but applicants must enjoy working with children.
