What skills and experience we\’re looking for
We require an experienced, committed and enthusiastic Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our team at St John’s Catholic Primary School. The successful candidate will largely be working on a 1-to-1 basis, but will include some general class support as well.
Responsibilities
- Enjoys helping all children to learn through a range of activities, including those with barriers to their learning
- Is qualified to Teaching Assistant NVQ Level 2
- Has experience of supporting children with specific needs on a 1-to-1 basis
- Has knowledge and experience of supporting pupils with Social and Emotional needs
- Can develop strategies and approaches to meet children’s Special Educational Needs, including 1-to-1 support and small group work
- Supports any other children, small group or provide support in whole classes as required by the school
- Works well under direction, but also shows initiative and can take ownership of tasks
- Has a good level of literacy and numeracy skills
- Is a committed Catholic or committed to supporting the Catholic life and mission of the school
