We are looking for a talented Music Teacher to join our comprehensive school for students aged 11-16, located at the foot of the South Downs just north of Brighton. A passionate teacher is required to help students excel in music.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver curriculum for Key Stage 4 music in accordance with the Eduqas syllabus, helping students achieve results above the national average.
  • Shape the future of the Music Department and plan the next phase of growth.
  • Organise and lead the annual Winter Concert, Spring Concert, and Battle of the Bands, and collaborate every two years with Drama and Art departments to stage full musical productions.
  • Support live performance ensembles including Orchestra, Jazz Orchestra, Steel band, Choir, Brass band, and student rock bands.
  • Utilise Music IT as a learning tool and operate recording studio and practice rooms.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience teaching music to 11-16 age group (Early Career Teacher or more experienced).
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children; must meet Disclosure and Barring Service checks and provide satisfactory references.
