We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher to join our educational team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young children, fostering their development across various domains. Generic Responsibilities
- Promote the aims, objectives, and ethos of the school and support the Headteacher in maintaining its philosophy of education.
- Meet and conform to the appropriate standards set out in the Teachers’ Standards and the current School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions document.
- Follow any current and applicable School Policies under the direction of the Headteacher.
- Respond to the needs of the school, particularly in the teaching of groups and classes within the school, as deemed necessary by the Headteacher.
- Possess proven experience in early childhood education or a related field.
- Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills with the ability to foster positive classroom environments.
- Exhibit excellent teaching abilities tailored to young children’s learning styles.
- Maintain exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage children, parents, and colleagues effectively.
- Organise and plan lessons and manage classroom activities efficiently.
- Show empathy and patience with a genuine passion for early childhood development.
Specific Responsibilities – Class Teacher
- Meet the expectations of a class teacher as determined by the Teachers’ Standards and the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document.
- Create and manage a caring, supportive and purposeful classroom environment.
- Plan and prepare lessons to deliver the National Curriculum Statutory Framework and the school’s schemes of work, ensuring teaching is of the highest standard.
- Identify clear teaching objectives and learning outcomes with appropriate challenges and high expectations.
- Organise and manage groups or individual pupils, ensuring differentiation of learning needs reflects all abilities.
- Plan opportunities to develop the social, cultural and emotional aspects of pupils’ learning.
- Mark attendance registers, ensuring absence and lateness are accounted for and communicate with the school office staff when necessary.
- Maintain a regular system of monitoring, assessment record keeping, and reporting of pupils’ progress.
- Ensure appropriate records are available for the transfer of pupils.
- Communicate and consult with parents on all aspects of their children’s education – academic, social, and emotional.
- Work cooperatively as part of a phase team, including planning work and supervising support staff and parent helpers.
- Actively take part in professional development, sharing expertise and experiences as required.
- Extend personal professional learning using collaborative study, attending INSET sessions, and staying abreast of new developments.
- Work alongside other staff to review and innovate the curriculum.
- Participate in meetings with colleagues, other professionals, and parents as required.
- Maintain a stimulating, organised, interactive, and informative learning environment that encourages each child to achieve their potential.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of the school’s policies, practices, and procedures in line with the school’s values and vision.
- Follow guidance and support from the leadership team.
- Control and oversee the use and storage of books, stationery, and other teaching materials, ensuring Health and Safety Regulations are observed.
- Actively and positively participate in performance management reviews.
