Two new posts for TA development leads are being introduced at Mayfield to support the school’s goal to create a more devolved leadership structure. The TA development leads will be class based, working on one site only and will work closely with pupils to facilitate positive engagement in learning and with teaching assistants to mentor, coach and develop them to excel in their role. The TA development leads will provide short weekly training sessions for TAs. There are two posts available: one role will be based at Wheeler Street and the other role will be based at Heathfield Road.

There is the option for the postholder/s to work either 26 hours per week, Monday to Thursday or 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The successful candidates will be skilled experienced SEND classroom practitioners with good communication and literacy skills and will be adept at using school systems to record progress, communicating effectively with pupils and parents, and logging behaviour and safeguarding concerns. The ability to show respect and empathy towards all colleagues whilst also promoting high standards and supporting and enabling colleagues to improve their practice is essential.
