About the Role

We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic Key Stage 1 Teacher. The successful candidate will inspire and engage pupils aged 5–7, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports every child in achieving their full potential.This is an exciting opportunity for a committed professional who is passionate about delivering high-quality teaching and fostering a love of learning in young children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum for Key Stage 1.
  • Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and positive behaviour.
  • Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress, providing constructive feedback to pupils and parents/carers.
  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional educational needs.
  • Establish positive relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues, and external professionals.
  • Support pupils' personal, social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Participate in school events, staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
  • Contribute to the wider life and ethos of the school.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding and child welfare at all times.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching within Key Stage 1 or Early Years/Primary Education.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum.
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting children with SEND.
  • Knowledge of phonics programmes and early reading development.
  • Experience using assessment data to improve pupil outcomes.
  • Subject leadership experience (where applicable).
