We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a friendly and supportive primary school team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about helping children achieve their full potential and who can make a positive contribution to teaching and learning across the school.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and school leaders to support high-quality learning experiences for pupils.

They will be confident in leading whole-class learning, delivering targeted interventions, and supporting pupils with a range of abilities and needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead whole-class learning activities in the absence of a teacher.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver learning activities under the direction of teaching staff.
  • Support the academic, social, and emotional development of pupils.
  • Deliver targeted intervention programmes to individuals and small groups.
  • Assist in assessing, recording, and monitoring pupil progress.
  • Support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) where required.
  • Promote positive behaviour and maintain high expectations of all pupils.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support pupil achievement.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school community.

The Successful Candidate Will Have

  • HLTA status or equivalent relevant qualification and experience.
  • Experience working within a primary school setting.
  • Strong literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
  • The ability to motivate and inspire children to achieve their best.
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • A positive, flexible, and proactive approach to work.
