We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 6 Teacher to join our team from September 2026 for the full academic year. This is a full-time position with full teaching responsibilities, offering an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in pupils’ final year of primary education. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing pupils for their SATs while ensuring a supportive, engaging, and structured learning environment that enables all learners to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning across the Year 6 curriculum
- Plan and deliver well-structured, engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners
- Prepare pupils effectively for SATs, tracking progress and addressing gaps in learning
- Establish and maintain high expectations for behaviour using positive and proactive strategies
- Assess, monitor, and report on pupil progress in line with school policies
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and leadership
- Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and carers
The Ideal Candidate Will
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Have experience teaching in Upper Key Stage 2 (preferably Year 6)
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of SATs preparation and assessment
- Show a proactive and positive approach to behaviour management
- Be skilled in thoughtful, well-paced lesson planning
- Be committed to supporting pupils both academically and pastorally
- Have excellent communication and organisational skills
This role is subject to full vetting checks through Teaching Personnel, including an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a formal interview process, which will include a lesson observation at the school.
