Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Yate.
This rewarding role involves working closely with pupils who may require additional support, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. You will play a key role in providing both behavioural support and social and emotional support, building positive relationships that help students feel safe, engaged, and motivated in the classroom.
- Supporting students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and helping students develop self-regulation strategies.
- Providing social and emotional support to pupils with additional needs.
- Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging learning activities.
- Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitoring and recording student progress and wellbeing.
- Has experience working with children or young people in an educational, care, youth work, or support setting.
- Is patient, resilient, and able to build strong professional relationships.
- Has a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable students.
- Possesses strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Is keen to develop a career within education, psychology, counselling, or related fields.
This role is particularly well suited to Psychology graduates looking to gain valuable hands-on experience supporting children with a range of behavioural, social, and emotional needs. It provides an excellent foundation for those considering careers in educational psychology, teaching, counselling, social work, or mental health support.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
