We are currently seeking a passionate and driven Sports Graduate Teaching Assistant to support our dynamic Physical Education (PE) department in a well‑established school in Teesside. This role is ideal for a recent graduate with a strong interest in sport and education who is looking to gain valuable experience in a school setting.
As a Sports Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with our PE teachers to support the delivery of high‑quality physical education lessons and extracurricular activities. You will be involved in assisting students of various abilities, providing practical support in lessons, and promoting the benefits of a healthy, active lifestyle. Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the delivery of PE lessons across a range of sports and activities.
- Support students in developing their physical skills, teamwork and sportsmanship.
- Work with students in small groups or one‑to‑one to provide additional support.
- Help with the organisation and supervision of extracurricular activities, sports clubs and teams.
- Assist in the planning and preparation of PE resources and materials.
- Support students in achieving their personal fitness and sporting goals.
- Promote physical activity, health and well‑being within the school community.
- Provide feedback to teachers on student progress and engagement.
- A degree in Sports Science, Sports Studies, Physical Education, or a related field.
- A strong interest in sport and physical activity.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students and help them to achieve their potential.
- Passion for promoting physical fitness and well‑being.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Experience in coaching or sports leadership (desirable but not essential).
- Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
- Provide at least two professional employment references.
