About the Role

The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Year 5 class, delivering high-quality lessons across the primary curriculum and supporting pupils to achieve their full potential.

The school is looking for a teacher who is confident, organised and consistent, with excellent classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils.

  • Your Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across the Year 5 curriculum
  • Establish clear expectations and maintain strong behaviour management throughout the school day
  • Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet individual needs
  • Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development
  • Build strong and positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
  • Work collaboratively with the wider school team
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to assessment and planning
  • Always follow school policies and safeguarding procedures

What Are Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching within a primary school setting
  • Experience teaching Key Stage 2, particularly Year 5, is desirable
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Confidence in establishing clear boundaries and maintaining consistency
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching
  • The ability to differentiate learning to meet a range of abilities
