We are seeking a committed and dynamic KS4 Teacher to take on an exciting role with responsibility for Outreach Learning and Twilight Provision. This is a maternity cover position starting in September 2026, offering a unique opportunity to support students both within and beyond the traditional classroom setting.
The right candidate will ensure the successful implementation of schemes of work that meet curriculum requirements. The role involves planning and delivering high-quality lessons while developing effective teaching methods to enhance learning and raise standards. You will be responsible for providing, monitoring, and evaluating resources related to KS4 Outreach and Twilight provision, as well as assessing pupils' work, tracking their progress, and implementing timely and appropriate interventions where needed.
The position also requires setting clear and achievable targets for attainment, monitoring and evaluating pupil progress against these targets, and contributing to the school's overall self-evaluation process. Strong collaboration with parents and carers is essential, alongside the proficient use of ICT to support teaching and learning. In addition, you will be expected to follow all school quality assurance procedures to ensure consistency and continuous improvement.
The school are hoping to recruit an individual to achieve high quality teaching, effective use of resources and the highest standards of learning and achievement for the Twilight pupil cohort who learn remotely for some of the school day and on site between the times of 2:30-4:30 daily, Monday-Friday.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality teaching across Key Stage 4, adapting to meet diverse student needs
- Lead and manage Outreach Learning programmes, supporting students in alternative settings
- Plan and deliver engaging Twilight Provision sessions to extend learning beyond the school day
- Work closely with pastoral teams, SEN staff, and external agencies
- Monitor, assess, and track pupil progress, implementing targeted interventions
- Promote positive behaviour and re-engagement in education
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / PGCE or equivalent)
- Experience teaching at KS4 level
- Strong understanding of alternative provision, outreach, or intervention programmes
- Excellent behaviour management and engagement strategies
- Ability to build positive relationships with vulnerable or disengaged learners
- Flexible, resilient, and proactive approach
- Experience working in PRU, SEN, or alternative provision settings
- Background in mentoring, pastoral care, or intervention support
