We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school located on Windmill Lane, Raunds for a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HLTA or a confident Teaching Assistant looking to take the next step in their career, supporting pupils to achieve their full potential in a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Your role will involve supporting teaching and learning across the school, leading small group interventions, and delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher. Working closely with teachers, SEN staff, and senior leaders, you will play a key role in helping pupils make excellent academic and personal progress.
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the delivery of engaging and high-quality lessons across the primary age range
- Leading small group interventions and providing targeted support to pupils
- Delivering planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
- Supporting pupils with a range of learning needs, including SEND where required
- Creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
- Managing classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
- Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, SENCOs, and senior leaders
- Monitoring and supporting pupils' progress and wellbeing
- Following all safeguarding and school policies and procedures
We are looking for candidates who:
- Hold an HLTA qualification or have equivalent school-based experience
- Have experience working within a primary school setting
- Are confident leading whole-class learning and small group interventions
- Demonstrate excellent communication and behaviour management skills
- Have a proactive, flexible, and positive approach to supporting children's learning
- Are committed to raising pupil attainment and promoting positive outcomes
- Are passionate about safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or are willing to obtain one
