Teaching Personnel are seeking a caring and dedicated Classroom Support Assistant to join a specialist education setting in the Wigan area.
Supporting students aged 11-19 years with Autism (ASC), SEMH needs, ADHD, communication difficulties, and additional learning needs, you will play a key role in helping young people engage with learning and achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities
- Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups within the classroom.
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in education.
- Build positive relationships with students to support their emotional wellbeing and confidence.
- Adapt resources and learning activities to meet individual needs.
- Support students with communication, social interaction, and life skills development.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, and external professionals.
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is highly desirable.
- Experience supporting individuals with Autism, SEMH needs, ADHD, or behavioural needs would be advantageous.
- A patient, adaptable, and empathetic approach.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their goals.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Teaching Personnel.
- Right to work in the UK.
