General Teaching Assistant – Ashton-in-Makerfield (Wigan)
A welcoming primary school in Ashton-in-Makerfield is seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is a long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
The role:
- Supporting the class teacher across KS1 or KS2
- Delivering small group interventions in literacy and numeracy
- Providing targeted support to pupils who need additional guidance
- Assisting with classroom organisation, behaviour management and daily routines
- Encouraging pupil engagement and independence in learning
The school is looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience in a primary school setting
- Is confident working with groups of children of mixed ability
- Can build strong relationships with pupils and staff
- Is reliable, proactive, and able to use initiative
